The City of St. Louis Treasurer’s Office launched the Financial Dignity Center in City Hall alongside our partner Operation HOPE, Inc. and sponsors: Ameren UE, BMO Harris Bank, Eagle Bank, Midwest BankCentre, People’s Community Action Corporation, Scottrade Bank, and Wells Fargo.
The Financial Dignity Center is one of many programs in the Office of Financial Empowerment. The mission of the center will also be achieved through programs such as Employee Financial Empowerment Lunch and Learn Series, St. Louis Saves, and College Kids.

BACKGROUND: The Office of Financial Empowerment was established by the City of St. Louis Treasurer’s Office in July 2014, and authorized by the Board of Alderman through Ordinance #69809.The Financial Dignity Center in the Office of Financial Empowerment is a viable and sustainable business model provided by a global leader in financial education, Operation HOPE, Inc.The mission of the office is to empower citizens to make better choices with their money through a variety of workshops and one-on-one counseling in the areas of homeownership, foreclosure prevention, small business development, credit counseling, and earned income tax credit awareness.
