St. Louis City Treasurer’s Office Encourages Residents to Build Financial Security During America Saves Week

St. Louis, MO – April 4, 2025 – The St. Louis City Treasurer’s Office is proud to participate in America Saves Week, a national campaign dedicated to promoting financial well-being and encouraging individuals to adopt smart saving habits. This year’s theme, “SAVING FOR YOUR PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE,” aligns with the Treasurer’s Office’s commitment to empowering St. Louis residents with the tools and resources needed to achieve financial stability.
From April 7th to April 11th, 2025, the Treasurer’s Office will collaborate with local financial institutions, community organizations, and schools to provide educational workshops, financial planning sessions, and resources to help residents set achievable savings goals. Through these initiatives, the office aims to highlight the importance of emergency savings, retirement planning, reducing debt, and homeownership.
“Financial security is a cornerstone of economic mobility, and America Saves Week gives us an opportunity to equip St. Louisans with the knowledge and tools they need to build a stronger financial future,” said Adam L. Layne, St. Louis City Treasurer. “By fostering a culture of saving, we can help individuals and families become more financially resilient and prepared for unexpected expenses.”
Throughout the week, the Treasurer’s Office will offer:

Financial Literacy Workshops: Covering budgeting, debt management, and savings strategies.

One-on-One Financial Coaching: Free consultations with financial professionals.

Community Engagement Events: Partnering with local organizations to spread awareness on saving best practices.

Online Resources & Social Media Campaigns: Providing tips, success stories, and challenges to encourage participation.

Resource Fair: Taking place on April 7 from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM in the City Hall Rotunda, featuring financial institutions and community partners offering valuable resources for residents.
St. Louis residents are encouraged to take the America Saves Pledge, a personal commitment to set savings goals and create a plan for financial success.
