St. Louis, MO — St. Louis Treasurer Adam Layne, alongside the Office of Financial Empowerment and College Kids, invites St. Louis families to celebrate Halloween early at the annual “Trunk or Treat” event on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the City Hall Parking Lot located at 1200 Market Street, St. Louis, MO 63102. This event is free and open to the public. This year’s event is generously sponsored by Enterprise Bank & Trust, Busey Bank, Midwest BankCentre, Regions Bank, St. Louis Fire Department, Fathers & Families Support Center, The Opportunity Trust, Blueprint, WEPOWER, Archwell, Guardian Angel, Wells Fargo, SLMPD, Empower2Move, SLU, Commerce Bank, US Bank, STLPL, and the Treasurer’s Office.
Families across St. Louis are encouraged to attend. Children can wear their favorite costumes and enjoy free treats from decorated vehicles featuring festive Halloween décor. The event will also include a DJ, games, and prizes for participants, making it a fun-filled afternoon for the entire community.
“The ‘Trunk or Treat’ event brings joy to children and families while fostering community engagement,” said Treasurer Adam Layne. “We are excited to provide a safe, festive space for everyone to celebrate Halloween together.” Treasurer Adam L. Layne was appointed in April 2021, succeeding former Treasurer Tishaura O. Jones, who became St. Louis’ first Black female mayor. Layne launched the Parking and Towing Assistance Program (PTAP), offering payment plans to residents with multiple fines. He previously served on the St. Louis Public School Board, advocating for quality education and budget transparency. Layne holds a Bachelor’s in Finance from George Washington University and a Master’s in Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He champions diversity, equity, and inclusion, overseeing the Office of Financial Empowerment and its College Kids Program, helping over 23,000 students save for education.
